Chatwin LLP has established a reputation of integrity and reliability for over 35 years
Christopher J. Felling, Associate
Christopher graduated from the University of Victoria's creative writing program and the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2015. He completed articles with a family litigation firm in Edmonton, then practiced as a family litigator and legal researcher before joining Chatwin LLP as an associate in 2018.
Christopher's varied litigation experience extends back to law school, where he served as a volunteer, caseworker, and project coordinator in Student Legal Services of Edmonton. He has conducted civil trials in the Provincial Court of Alberta, argued regular and special chambers applications in the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, assisted litigants in the Alberta Human Rights Commission and other tribunals, and resolved cases in many forms of alternative dispute resolution. He has also served as a researcher and advisor to small businesses, community organizations and other lawyers.
Outside of practice, Christopher publishes a newsletter on newly published cases from Alberta's courts and remains an active volunteer. He sits as part of the Canadian Bar Association's legislative review committee for Alberta and was a case law review officer for the Family Law (North) subsection. Christopher and his wife live in Edmonton's river valley, renovating their old house together and experimenting frequently in their kitchen.
